The ice cream turned out soft or runny. Am I doing something wrong?

Home-made ice cream traditionally has the consistency of a thick milkshake. If you prefer a thicker consistency, try the following;

a. Remove the dasher and place the lid and lid cap on the canister. Place the canister in the freezer so it may harden.

b. Leave the canister in the wooden bucket. Remove the dasher and add more ice and rock salt to the bucket. Cover with a towel and let sit until the ice cream is firm.
