Cookie Dough Ice Cream
An ice cream parlor classic made right at home.
2 cups milk 1 3/4 cups sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon vanilla 4 cups heavy cream 1 cup chocolate chip cookie dough 2 cups light cream
Scald milk until you see bubbles forming around the edge of the pan, then remove from heat. Stir in salt and sugar until completely dissolved. Add in the vanilla, light cream, and heavy cream. Chill the mixture, covered, for 30 minutes or until completely chilled.
Transfer mixture into mixing canister and follow directions in the "How to Use" section in your user's manual. Do not fill the mixing canister more than 2/3 full, as the mixture will expand during freezing. Once ice cream is finished churning, crumble cookie dough into little pieces and mix evenly into the mixture. Place ice cream in the freezer until hard.
