Mint Chip Ice Cream
An ice cream parlor classic made right at home.
4 cups milk 4 cups double/heavy cream 12 ounces caster sugar 2 1/2 cups plain chocolate (grated) 4 teaspoons peppermint essence
Heat milk and sugar in a saucepan until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove mixture from heat and let cool. When cold, stir in cream and peppermint essence.
Transfer complete mixture into mixing canister and follow directions in the "How to Use" section of your user's manual. Add the grated chocolate once ice cream begins to thicken. Do not fill the mixing canister more than 2/3 full, as the mixture will expand during freezing.
Note: Ice cream will not be green. To make ice cream green, add 4 or 5 drops of green food coloring along with the cream and peppermint essence.
